Al is Chairman of the Washington Township Planning Board. He was involved with many community activities over the years. Al spent time as a Youth Soccer & Basketball coach, an usher at Holy Family Church, and a 4th-degree member in the Knights of Columbus.
But it was Al's time serving with the 348th General Hospital as a Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam era that drew him to want to get involved with the Tri-State Veterans Memorial Fund. Al has seen first hand the effects of combat had on our veterans, especially the mentally wounded ones which can be an injury just as traumatic as the physically wounded ones. With a stigma surrounding Mental Health, Al hopes the Tri-State Veterans Memorial Fund will help veterans and provide a space of belonging.
Al says, "We will let them know they're not alone and people do care."
